What is
EZ-bag? |
|
To be simple, it's a
plastic zipper bag with a 2d barcode on it. As you can guess from the name,
it's a brother of EZ-seq. You can just mix the DNA
and send to Macrogen. The whole bag is
considered as one single order, and the cost is "per bag" basis
regardless of the number of tubes in the bag. You may imagine a salad dish
which you can put as much as possible and pay per plate. (But, not like this;

How
large is an EZ-bag? |
|
It's a bag sized 10 X 12.5 cm with zipper on top. From the experiments of our staffs, one bag can generally hold approximately 35 – 40 of general 1.5ml tubes. If you arrange the tubes very well in the bag, more tubes may be able to fit in. Regardless of the number of tubes on the bag, the charge is made "per bag" basis.

What is
the benefit of EZ-bag? |
|
It keeps all the original benefits of EZ-seq. No individual invoice, No order sheet, 24-hour of turnaround time and so on. Besides, it costs less. The break even point of this bag is about 23 samples compared to our regular service of Macrogen Europe.(as of Oct 2011) This means if you send more than 23 samples at a time, EZ-bag gives you better cost-effectiveness. Of course, shipping is free even for a EZ-bag. |

How to
use it? |
|
In using EZ-bag, there are two important rules. 1.
It should be all 1.5ml tubes. 2.
The bag should be able to be fully closed by the zipper without breaking or
patching it. Beside this, it's just like EZ-seq. Mix the DNA with primer in the tubes, and put the tubes in the bag. In the bag, we will enclose small stickers with numbers printed on it. Please attach these labels on top of the tubes. (If individual identity of the samples is not important, you may not need to attach the labels.) If you please write the number of tubes on the EZ-bag, our lab staffs will be very much happy because it can save their efforts to count the number of tubes! (At the moment, EZ-Bag is only available for purified DNA samples.) |

What do
I get? |
|
The sequence data will be delivered to you in 24-hours from the moment of sample receipt in our lab. The sequence files will have the following names. [Barcode]-[TubeNumber].AB1 For example, 125FPAA00-15.AB1 125FPAA00-25.AB1 The tube numbers will be in serial order. |
